Here at Hilltop we are excited to have a middle school and a high school youth group, meeting on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year. Typically, middle school youth meet from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., starting with a quick supper that can be anything from delivered pizza to pancakes and sausage. Our kids LOVE this time of fellowship, and we are so thankful to have many parents donate time preparing the Wednesday night meal for us. After eating, we will head downstairs to the youth room for games, discussion and prayer. Our high school students meet from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and have snacks and drinks provided. Often they will come with homework studies and will spend time visiting and sharing stories of their day as they wind down from their hectic schedules. We are excited to have relevant discussions, games and time of prayer for one another. Both groups are very involved in supporting our local missions: serving the Banquet, serving the Nightwatch Canteen, packing meals for Kids Against Hunger and a favorite mission night of Random Acts of Kindness, to name a few. At Hilltop, we recognize the importance of developing a strong spiritual foundation for our children and youth. Our staff and adult volunteers are committed to developing lessons and activities that are age appropriate and biblically sound. Nightwatch Canteen is a mobile mission serving meals to those in need. Volunteers needed each month. Coordinator(s) are needed to plan the meal and purchase food and supplies. Additional volunteers are needed to help with food prep and serving. This project is shared with Sioux Falls area United Methodist churches. Follow this link to volunteer. Monday Nightwatch. Hilltop is also sharing with other churches to provide a Monday evening meal at Hayward Elementary School. Approximately 95% of the meals served are to children who live in the area and attend Hayward Elementary. Their teachers are so dedicated to the well being of their students that they help serve meals several times during the year. On the dates teachers will serve, no other serving assistance is needed.
